The State of Qatar is participating in the World Cities Summit (WCS) which began in the Republic of Singapore on Sunday. HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah is leading the State of Qatar's delegation to the summit. The three-day summit brings together a number of Their Excellencies the ministers in charge of urban planning and mayors of cities. On the sidelines of his participation in the summit, HE the Minister of Municipality met with HE Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-Charge of Trade Relations in the Republic of Singapore Grace Fu. The meeting discussed avenues of cooperation between the two sides and ways to reinforce them for the shared interests of the two friendly countries, particularly in food security and waste treatment fields. The key events of WCS include the Mayors Forum and the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize (LKYWCP). The event also constitutes a platform for government leaders and experts to discuss the challenges facing li vable and sustainable cities and share the integrated urban solutions, along with the opportunities to achieve smart, flexible, and renewable cities in the present and future.
