Baghdad, The Ministry of Planning discussed with the World Bank the updated plan for the work of the Iraq Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Fund. The Ministry stated in a statement: 'Today, the Steering Committee of the Recovery and Reconstruction Fund held its twelfth meeting at the Ministry of Planning, headed by the Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Maher Hammad Johan, and in the presence of the Director of the World Bank Office in Iraq and the Fund Director, Richard Abdel Noor.' It added: "The meeting discussed a number of issues on the agenda, including approving the updated plan for the Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Fund, in addition to discussing the priority axes and areas, as well as the ongoing activities implemented by the Iraqi government and the World Bank, as well as discussing the approved grants, and what is planned for their implementation, adding, 'the meeting also discussed proposals for implementing new projects from the World Bank that were recently approved, with the releva nt authorities demanding the project outputs and their restriction within the budget.' The Ministry pointed out that the meeting discussed the strategic direction of the Fund's work and the options available for using the remaining funds from the Fund, along with simplifying the results framework and the annual report for the year 2023. The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Ministry's International Cooperation Department, Saher Abdel Kadhim Mahdi, the Deputy Director of the Iraq Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Fund, Waseem Al-Muqdadi, and representatives of the relevant ministries and relevant authorities.
