Doha, The activities of Qatar Charity's forum for its field offices have commenced, which will continue until Thursday under the slogan 'Let us Leave a Mark,' to enhance coordination between Qatar Charity's headquarters and its field offices and improve the capabilities of its field offices' staff.
The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by many dignitaries, including Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the OIC Humanitarian Funds Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdurahman Al-Thani, General Manager of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) Ibrahim Abdullah Al Dehaimi, HE Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, and a number of officials from government bodies and humanitarian organizations, as well as the staff from Qatar Charitys headquarters and its 32 field offices around the world.
During the opening session, Qatar Charity was awarded ISO certificates for its management systems according to international standards and specifications by Bureau Veritas in five management areas, which are Quality Management, Information Security Management, Risk Management, Compliance Management, and Customer Service Management.
During his opening remarks at the forum, the CEO of Qatar Charity Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, said: "We consider our field offices as the eyes through which Qatar Charity sees. We, through these offices, assess needs, carry out appropriate humanitarian interventions in a timely manner, implement high-quality poverty alleviation projects and programs, and promote sustainable development, in accordance with the governmental policies and plans of the countries we operate in, and governance procedures and risk management in charitable work." He added that given the important role of these offices and the desire to achieve Qatar Charity's vision, which is Dignity for All, we work to expand the scope of our activity geographically and increase the number of these offices in the coming period to 40. He thanked all the dignitaries as well as the directors and employees of the field offices, who are the unsung heroes of charity work.
For his part, Director of the Licensing and Support Department at the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RAC) Rashid Hamad Al Nuaimi thanked the leadership of Qatar Charity. He noted that the value of its aid and programs carried out within Qatar in 2022 amounted to 194 million Qatari Riyals, indicating that Qatar Charity has been able to provide developmental and humanitarian assistance to more than 10 million beneficiaries in over 50 countries around the world.
He highlighted Qatar Charity's contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and the development goals of the countries, in which Qatar Charity's field offices are located, as well as its contribution to the Qatar National Vision regarding the international context.
In turn, CEO's assistant for the International Operations and Programs Sector at Qatar Charity Nawaf Al Hammadi said that the forum includes several workshops and activities, which will carried out by all the departments of Qatar Charity, in addition to RACA, aiming to foster communication and build the capacity of the staff at the field offices.
He pointed out that Qatar Charity is witnessing an expansion phase, as the number of its field offices has reached 32 offices, and currently it sponsors more than 200,000 people and implements approximately 25,000 projects annually within its ongoing programs.
The forum, which is being held from Nov. 5-15, includes 15 workshops that cover a variety of topics, including child and family care, emergency and relief management, financial affairs management, international program and development management, information technology management, governance, procurement tenders, and resource development and media.
