Prime Minister Mustafa Urges Global Action for Palestinian Statehood.


Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa on Thursday emphasized the necessity for unified global efforts to achieve the establishment of a Palestinian state. In a phone conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, Mustafa underscored the importance of international cooperation to realize a Palestinian state and implement United Nations resolutions as a pathway to a just and lasting peace.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Mustafa also stressed the importance of transforming international efforts into concrete actions to implement the two-state solution and support the Global Coalition for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. This coalition is seen as a vital mechanism to achieve comprehensive and sustainable peace.

Mustafa highlighted the urgent need to halt Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip and ensure the swift and unobstructed entry of humanitarian aid throughout the region. He also called for creating conducive c
onditions for the reconstruction of Gaza once hostilities cease and emphasized maintaining coordination with the international community to secure essential materials and resources.

Expressing gratitude to the EU for its financial aid to Palestine in 2024, Mustafa stressed the importance of expediting the European Council and Parliament’s approval of an integrated aid package. This support is crucial to help the Palestinian government manage the severe financial crisis caused by actions from the Israeli occupation, including the withholding of Palestinian clearance revenues.

Lastly, Mustafa congratulated Kallas on her new role, acknowledging that she assumes office during a particularly complex period in the Middle East, especially in Palestine. He affirmed the EU’s crucial role in strengthening the foundations of peace and stability in the region.
