HE President of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam met HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, on the sidelines of His Excellency's participation in the Shangri-La Dialogue which is organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). Talks during the meeting dealt with topics of mutual interest between the two sides and the latest developments in the region, particularly the Israeli war on Gaza. They highlighted the State of Qatar's role in mediation efforts and its commitment to achieving a ceasefire and ending the war on Gaza. The meeting was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Singapore Saoud bin Jassim Al Jufairi, along with several senior officials from both sides.
