PM directs the security services to secure the roads of Arbaeen Visit and the smooth flow of transportation

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, directed the security services to secure the roads of pilgrims and the smooth flow of transportation with the arrival of the peak of the Arbaeen visit. The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement: "Al-Sudani, today, Thursday, visited the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command, to follow up on the security plan for the Arbaeen visit, during which he chaired a security meeting that included the Minister of Interior, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, the commanders of the Federal Police, the Land Forces, the Popular Mobilization Forces and other security formations." The statement added: "Al-Sudani followed up, via a television circuit, with the governors of Karbala, Najaf, Babylon and Baghdad, the progress of implementing the security and service plan in their governorates, which are the focus of the Arbaeen visit, in terms of the numbers of Husseini processions and pilgrims heading on foot to revive the visit cerem onies that reach their peak during these days, as the governors of Babylon and Karbala reviewed the procedures for implementing the service plan prepared during the visit, appreciating the efforts made over more than a month to secure pilgrims and citizens in general." The Commander-in-Chief pointed to the images of sacrifice, generosity and service embodied by the Iraqis in their various social titles, starting from the governorates of entry points, and ending with the march to Karbala and Najaf, in addition to what was reflected in the image of the ability of state institutions to accommodate the millions of crowds, with a high level of security, services and ease of movement, which created a feeling of reassurance among the citizen that he is in front of effective institutions, stressing that the government formed a high committee for million-person visits instead of temporary treatments. Al-Sudani explained: "The Arbaeen visit is witnessing its peak these days, which requires focusing on the security as pect in the first place, doubling the intelligence effort, and high coordination between the various agencies," stressing: "The success of the security plan is the key to the success of the rest of the plans, and he also stressed raising the readiness to confront any security breach and quickly address it." The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed all security agencies tasked with securing the visit to overcome routine security work, and to control the ground along the roads taken by pilgrims between the governorates leading to Karbala and Najaf, and to supervise all security details in the field, to preserve the results of the great efforts made. With regard to transportation, Al-Sudani directed that efforts be made in Samarra, Babylon and Najaf, to complete the picture of achievement by facilitating the transportation of pilgrims to the governorates or to the border crossings, with the provision of a large number of government buses, and facilitating the entry of private sector vehicles, stress ing the continuation of the same effort and drive until the end of the visit is announced, and emphasizing the smooth flow of roads in the governorates of the Middle Euphrates, and acting firmly towards any violation, especially with regard to convoys and processions, and taking immediate legal measures against violators.
