PLO’s Hussein al-Sheikh briefs Indonesian Foreign Minister on latest developments in Palestine


RAMALLAH: Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein Al-Sheikh briefed on Wednesday Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiyono on the latest developments in the situation in Palestine and the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit held in the Russian city of Kazan, Al-Sheikh reiterated the positions of the State of Palestine calling for an immediate ceasefire, a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and accelerating the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, especially northern Gaza, to avoid a humanitarian famine.

Al-Sheikh further stressed that the State of Palestine will continue its role towards the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and alleviate their suffering.

The Indonesian Foreign Minister was also briefed on the ongoing attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, stressing the need to implement international legitimacy resolutions and international law and end the occupation and colonia
lism.

AL-Sheikh expressed his thanks for all that Indonesia provides to support Palestine in international forums, and for the humanitarian aid and assistance it provides to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

for his part, the Indonesian Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s continued support for Palestine and the provision of humanitarian support until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
