RAMALLAH: In a meeting held on Monday, the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) reaffirmed its priority of confronting the Israeli occupation, as well as the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people. The PLO Executive Committee further emphasized the need to strengthen national unity both at the grassroots and national levels. The committee condemned the escalating Israeli assaults, incursions, and blockades occurring across the West Bank, including in Jerusalem, as part of a broader campaign that integrates with the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip. It asserted that these actions aim to terrorize the Palestinian population and deny their legitimate national rights, including the right to an independent state and the right of return of the refugees. The PLO Executive Committee criticized Israel's deliberate attempts to displace the Palestinian people and impose a reality of ethnic cleansing on their homeland. It stressed that "such schemes will be thwarted by the resilience, unity, and determination of the Palestinian people in their steadfastness on their land and their unified resistance against the occupation." The committee pointed out that the Israeli occupation's offensive in the provinces of Jenin and Tulkarm are a continuation of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, calling for intensified efforts to hold the occupation accountable. It also urged the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants against Israeli leaders. The PLO's Executive Committee asserted that "the Palestinian people will inevitably defeat attempts to undermine their national cause and displacement plans, both in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem." The committee decided to mobilize on all fronts, including political and international arenas, to confront the Israeli occupation's plans and ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people. It also called for urgent action with global, Arab, and Islamic nations, affirming that the Palestinian people, who conti nue to make significant sacrifices for their rights and the broader Arab and Islamic causes, will remain united, resilient, and determined in their struggle against the occupation and settler violence, regardless of the cost.
