Pentagon: USS Truman aircraft carrier sails to the Middle East

The US Department of Defense "Pentagon" announced that the USS Truman aircraft carrier will sail to the eastern Mediterranean next Monday. The Defense Ministry said: "The region currently includes a group of other American aircraft carriers, including the aircraft carrier "USS Roosevelt". This move coincides with the escalation of tensions in the region and hours after the Israeli army carried out an air strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut, which led to the killing of Ibrahim Aqil, the acting head of the Radwan Unit affiliated with the Hezbollah group. The Israeli army announced that about 10 senior Hezbollah leaders were killed alongside Ibrahim Aqil. The US Department of Defense had previously announced that the United States would strengthen its military presence in the Middle East by deploying more warships and fighter jets in light of the escalation of tensions in the region. A Pentagon official had told the Washington Post that American destroyers are stationed in the Gulf and eastern Mediterr anean, including the aircraft carrier "USS Theodore Roosevelt", amphibious assault teams, and more than 4,000 Marines and sailors. According to the report published by the newspaper, the United States has redirected a number of warships stationed in the Red Sea, which are carrying out operations against the Houthis in Yemen, to the Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea.
