Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour won the gold medal in the uneven bars event of gymnastics competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games today. Nemour came in first place after collecting (15,700) points in the final of the competition, outperforming Chinese Qiu Qiyuan, who came in second place and won the silver medal with (15,500) points, and USA's Lee Sunisa, who came in third place and won the bronze medal with (14,800) points. Kaylia Nemour gave her country the sixth gold in the history of its participation in the Summer Olympics, for the 17-year-old gymnast and world runner-up to become the first African Olympic champion in gymnastics.
