Palestinian Youth Dies of Malnutrition in Gaza Amid Severe Blockade

Gaza: Medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis reported the death of a young man from Rafah due to malnutrition and famine in the Gaza Strip. This tragic incident highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the medical sources also noted the deaths of seven citizens due to famine and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 154, including 89 children. The situation in Gaza is described as the worst humanitarian crisis in its history, exacerbated by the conflict initiated by Israel on October 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, Israel has maintained a closure on all crossings with Gaza, severely restricting the entry of food and medical aid. This blockade has led to a widespread famine outbreak within the Strip. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has raised alarms about the doubling of malnutrition rates among children under five between March and June.

The World Health Organization has confirmed that malnutrition in Gaza has reached critical levels, with the blockade and delays in aid contributing to the loss of many lives. Nearly one in five children under five in Gaza City suffers from severe malnutrition. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of 60,138 citizens and injuries to 146,269 others since October 7, 2023.
