Bethlehem: Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Thursday demolished two homes and four agricultural rooms in the village of Wadi Rahal, south of Bethlehem, as part of the policy of forced displacement and the tightening of the noose on citizens in Area C.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Ammar Hijazi, a member of the Wadi Rahal village council, reported that large IOF forces, accompanied by bulldozers and military vehicles, entered the village and began extensive demolition operations. The demolitions targeted four agricultural rooms used for storing agricultural equipment and materials.
Hijazi mentioned that the military bulldozers also demolished two homes, each measuring approximately 200 square meters. One of the homes belonged to Ahmed al-Badawi, and the other was owned by the Saad family.
Wadi Rahal village is an area under threat due to its proximity to the Efrat colony, which is built on Palestinian lands south of Bethlehem. The village frequently experiences demolitions and bulldozing operations that target the Palestinian presence.
It is reported that the occupation authorities demolished 588 facilities in the first half of this year, impacting 843 citizens, including 411 children. During the same period, they issued demolition notices to 556 facilities, including 322 inhabited homes, 18 uninhabited ones, 151 agricultural facilities, and 97 facilities classified as sources of livelihood and others, as stated by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
