Gaza: Twenty citizens, including 15 aid-seekers, were killed on Thursday as a result of Israeli targeting of them in the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, five citizens were killed when an Israeli drone targeted a tent near Hayat refugee camp, west of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. The incident added to the escalating violence in the region.
He added that 15 citizens were killed and 65 others, most of them children, were injured when Israeli forces targeted civilian gatherings near an aid distribution point on Salah al-Din Street, south of Wadi Gaza, in the central Gaza Strip. The attack has intensified concerns over the safety of civilians in conflict zones.
Medical sources confirmed yesterday that the death toll among aid-seekers who were taken to hospitals had risen to 1,239, with more than 8,152 wounded. These figures reflect the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in the area as medical facilities struggle to cope with the influx of casualties.
The Israeli occupation forces have continued their war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the killing of 60,138 citizens and the injury of 146,269 others. The ongoing conflict has drawn international attention and calls for a ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and suffering.
