Palestine’s Chinese Ambassador Reaffirms Support for Just Resolution to Palestinian Cause

Ramallah: China's Ambassador to Palestine, Zeng Jixin, has reaffirmed his country's support for a just resolution to the Palestinian cause. He emphasized China's backing of the outcomes from the United Nations conference held in New York earlier this week, which focused on peaceful settlement and the implementation of a two-state solution for the Palestinian issue.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during a recent press conference at the Chinese embassy in Ramallah, Jixin stressed the need for urgent intervention to secure a comprehensive ceasefire to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He urged Israel to adhere to international humanitarian laws, restore aid to Gaza, and collaborate with the United Nations and other international bodies to provide necessary humanitarian assistance. Jixin called on the Security Council to take decisive actions to mitigate what he described as the worst humanitarian crisis in modern history.

Jixin further elaborated that both Gaza and the West Bank should be governed by the Palestinians, highlighting that any forceful alterations to Gaza's status or annexation of the West Bank would not foster peace. He reiterated China's opposition to any breaches of international law, including the construction of settlements, and voiced support for the Arab plan for Gaza administration and the Palestinian Authority's governance over both the West Bank and Gaza. China is committed to supplying essential resources for Gaza's reconstruction.

The ambassador also underscored the importance of supporting Palestine in strengthening its internal unity, governance capabilities, and economic resilience. He pointed out that China supports the Palestinian Authority to enhance its influence and effectively fulfill its responsibilities. Last year, China facilitated a meeting of Palestinian factions resulting in the Beijing Declaration, and continues to offer diverse assistance and training to Palestine. China remains prepared to collaborate with the international community in sustaining support for Palestinian efforts.
