Palestinian Man Injured in Colonists Attack Near Nablus


Nablus: A Palestinian man sustained fractures and bruises on Wednesday after being attacked by colonists in the lands of al-Sawiya village, south of Nablus. The head of the village council, Mahmoud Hassan, reported the incident which took place during an olive harvest activity in the eastern lands of the village.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the victim, Nihad Abu Arar, who is the deputy head of the village council, was assaulted and pushed by the settlers, resulting in his injuries. Hassan stated that the attack occurred after Israeli police directed the group to take a rough path, where they were then confronted by armed settlers accompanied by dogs.



Hassan added that Abu Arar was transported to a hospital following the fall in the rugged terrain. The incident highlights ongoing tensions and violent encounters in the region, particularly during the olive harvest season, which is a critical economic activity for Palestinian farmers.
