NEW YORK: Prime Minister Mohamed Moustafa met separately with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, and Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmar Stenergaard on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. During the meetings, Moustafa discussed accelerating efforts to stop the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the escalation of the occupation's aggression on the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and opening the crossings with the Gaza Strip to allow the entry of aid and ensure its access to all parts of the Strip, He also called for the urgent need to supporting efforts to obtain full membership in the United Nations. Mustafa stressed the importance of implementing the UN General Assembly resolution based on the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice, in order to end the occupation and embody the establishment of the Pale stinian state. The Prime Minister also discussed during the meetings ways to enhance joint cooperation with the State of Palestine at the official and popular levels, calling on countries that have not recognized the State of Palestine to hasten to recognize it in order to support the two-state solution and embody the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The meetings were attended by the Palestinian representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, Minister of Planning Wael Zaqout, Palestinian Ambassador to Canada Mona Abu Amara, Ambassador Omar Awadallah, and Ambassador Majed Bamia.
