Jeddah, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the Security Council's adoption of a resolution calling for an immediate and complete ceasefire in Gaza, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupying forces, the return of Palestinian displaced persons to their homes, the guarantee of safe, effective and adequate humanitarian access throughout the Gaza Strip and the rejection of any attempt at demographic or territorial change in the Gaza Strip. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the OIC considered the adoption of the resolution to be an important step towards the international community taking responsibility for halting the eight-month-old genocide committed against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation. It called for concerted efforts and responsibility on the part of all to ensure its immediate implementation. Source: Qatar News Agency
