Israeli Military Issues New Evacuation Orders in Gaza City’s Zeitoun Neighborhood

Gaza city: The Israeli military has issued new evacuation orders for residents in nine areas of the Zeitoun neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, urging them to relocate southward toward the Al-Mawasi area in southern Gaza. The residents of the targeted areas were instructed to "evacuate immediately" to Al-Mawasi, located west of Khan Younis. These orders coincide with intensified Israeli aerial and ground bombardments across Gaza, contributing to the ongoing displacement of tens of thousands of Palestinians from their homes.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the United Nations has repeatedly warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis in the region. The Israeli military had previously warned citizens to evacuate areas in the Zeitoun neighborhood on June 29, and similar warnings have been periodically issued for various parts of the Gaza Strip. Despite Israeli claims of safety in southern areas like Al-Mawasi, military actions continue to impact all parts of the Gaza Strip, including those designated as "safe zones."

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported last month that 82% of the Gaza Strip is under evacuation orders, leaving citizens with limited options as the destruction of facilities and shelters persists. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the residents amid the conflict and the urgent need for humanitarian assistance.
