WAHINGTON: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the ongoing Israeli bombardment and hostilities continue to kill, injure and displace Palestinians, as well as damage and destroy the homes and infrastructure they rely on. OCHA said that three schools sheltering internally displaced people were reportedly hit in the last 48 hours, resulting in mass casualties. Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General António, stressed that as the violence continues, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is deepening, calling on all parties to the conflict to respect their obligations under the international humanitarian law, including by taking constant care to spare civilians and civilian objects. This includes allowing civilians to leave for safer areas and allowing their return as soon as circumstances allow. He added that the UN's partners are now reporting a surge in malnutrition levels among children in northern Gaza last month Source: Palestine News and Inf ormation Agency – WAFA
