The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's resolution demanding an end to the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine. An overwhelming majority of 124 countries voted in favour of the resolution. In a statement by the MWL's General Secretariat, Secretary-General Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa praised the resolution's outcome, highlighting it as evidence of international awareness of the Palestinian people's inherent right to self-determination and statehood. He also commended the responsible and noble stance of the countries that voted in favor of the resolution. Dr. Al-Issa called on the world to support the humanitarian and legal rights of the Palestinian people by pressing for the implementation of these resolutions on the ground. Earlier, the UN General Assembly adopted a historic resolution, demanding Israel end its unlawful presence in the occupied Palestinian territory, no later than 12 months from the adoption of the resolution.
