The Spokesman for the Interior and the Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, announced the arrest of an international drug trafficker in his possession of 55 kilograms of narcotic pills between the governorates of Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah. Miri said in a statement that, in a security operation and according to accurate intelligence information, detachments of the General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs arrested an international drug trafficker in his possession of 320,000 Captacone narcotic pills, equivalent to 55 kilograms. The arrest operation took place between the Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah governorates and under the supervision of The Kirkuk drug Director, in cooperation with the investigative body, and the investigative papers related to the accused were presented to the investigating judge and he decided to arrest him in accordance with Article 27 of the Anti-Narcotics Law.
