The Ministry of Fisheries condemned the attack carried out by mercenaries of the Saudi aggression on fishermen of the coastal area of Buhais in Midi District, Hajjah Governorate, while they were fishing near Baklan Island. The ministry said in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the mercenaries of the Saudi aggression detained four boats with fishing equipment and forced the fishermen to return on one boat. The statement warned the mercenaries against continuing such criminal and arbitrary acts against unarmed fishermen who rely on fishing as their only source of livelihood. He held the Saudi regime and the mercenary government fully responsible for the safety of fishermen and their property. The statement called on the United Nations and its humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibilities towards Yemeni fishermen and their grievances and to condemn the ongoing violations against fishermen by the Saudi aggression coalition and its mercenaries. He called for pressure on th e mercenaries to return the detained boats and fishing equipment, and to stop all practices and violations against fishermen. The statement also called for the speedy release of hundreds of fishermen detained in prisons belonging to the mercenaries of the Saudi regime. Source: Yemen News Agency
