Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi confirmed that the ministry is following up on the file of illegal foreign labor and those coming to Iraq illegally, pointing out that a set of measures have been taken to prevent the infiltration of illegal labor into the labor market. Al-Asadi explained during his meeting with a number of political analysts today, Saturday, that there is a mechanism to regulate foreign labor in the country in cooperation with the relevant authorities to ensure the implementation of laws and regulations related to labor for various foreign arrivals to the country, especially the labor law, pointing to the importance of the role of the media in supporting the work of the ministry as it is a basic factor in the process of monitoring deserving and violating cases. He added that "the ministry has a series of procedures followed against violators, whether they are companies, workers, or even those who violate social care, noting that there are inspection and control committees on companies operating in the country to follow up on the implementation of laws and instructions related to the employment of foreign workers and their counterparts from national workers, with an emphasis on the implementation of occupational health and safety procedures in all workplaces."
