The Minister of Electricity and Energy in the caretaker government, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, met today with the implementation team of the project to manufacture smart electricity meters and prepayment systems (AMI). In the meeting, which was attended by the Director General of the Public Electricity Corporation, Dr. Meshaal Al-Rifi, and his deputies for financial and administrative affairs, Abdullah Qarada, Distribution and Technical Inspection, Mohamed Al-Shaibani, and the Executive Director of Sana'a Power, Hassan Al-Moayyed, the team reviewed the work accomplished in the project, which reached about 60 percent in the electronic and electrical aspects, as well as software, and information systems. At the meeting, the Minister of Electricity assured that the project will be implemented in accordance with the directives of the revolutionary leadership. He called on the team to absorb the opinions and observations put forward by the Public Electricity Corporation. In turn, the Director General of the Corporation stressed the need to complete the required treatments to start the trial operation process of the project according to the proposed time period.
