Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati called on Sunday for a comprehensive ceasefire in southern Lebanon and the full implementation of UN Resolution 1701. The Lebanese Prime Minister's Office said in a statement: "Mikati stressed that the cycle of violence is futile," calling for "not being dragged into escalation that complicates the situation and leads to undesirable consequences." The Lebanese Prime Minister condemned "all forms of violence against civilians," considering that "a sustainable ceasefire on all fronts is the only possible solution to prevent further human losses and to avoid further deterioration of the situation on the ground."
