The new President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, called on Friday evening to recognize the State of Palestine in order to achieve peace in the Middle East. She said in her first statement on this subject since assuming office on October 1: "The Palestinian state must be recognized just like the State of Israel, this has been Mexico's position for several years."
