The European Union confirmed: 'Iraq is making great strides in the field of combating corruption.' European Union Ambassador Thomas Seiler said, in a speech at the official opening ceremony of the activities of the high-level regional meeting held by the Arab Network for Promoting Integrity and Anti-Corruption: 'The European Union is very interested in the Iraqi and Arab anti-corruption laws, so we are always committed to providing support and assistance with our expertise along with the Iraqi expertise.' He added: 'There are Iraqi legislations that have been implemented, but we need more effective laws. There is great development and advanced steps that Iraq has taken, and we are very happy with the great progress Iraq is making in combating corruption, and we are also happy with Iraq's participation in our experiences,' stating: 'The Iraqi integrity and judiciary are doing very great work at the level of cases and convictions, and this makes European companies and banks reassured about that.
