Meteorology forecasts thunderstorms and strong winds

The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expected thunderstorms of varying intensity in several provinces, and strong winds on the coasts, during the next 24 hours. The center stated in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected, reaching heavy levels, which may be accompanied by hailstones, in Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Al Dhale' and Al Bayda provinced. Scattered rains of varying intensity may fall on Sa'ada, Al-Jawf, Marib, Lahj Heights, northern Abyan, Shabwa, and the highlands adjacent to Tihama Plain. The center called on citizens in areas where rain is expected to fall, to be careful and not to be in flood paths and valley valleys during and after the rain. Seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains in the southern Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and western Gulf of Aden were warned of sea turbulence and wave heights that could reach 4 meters or more. The center also warned v ehicle drivers on mountain roads against decreased horizontal visibility due to the formation of fog or water mulch, and against crossing ground bridges when torrential rains flow.
