Ramallah: The Palestine Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a continuing heatwave across the region as temperatures are expected to rise significantly, reaching approximately 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above the annual average in the coming days. The weather on Thursday is anticipated to be particularly hot, with westerly to northwesterly winds remaining light to moderate, occasionally becoming active, and sea waves predicted to be light to medium. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the hot conditions are expected to persist through Friday and Saturday, with no substantial change in temperatures. Similar weather patterns will be observed, with the PMD forecasting westerly to northwesterly winds and sea waves remaining light to medium. The heatwave is expected to continue into Sunday, with temperatures slightly rising to approximately 4 degrees Celsius above the annual average. The PMD has issued warnings to citizens about the dangers of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, e specially during peak hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is also an increased risk of fires in areas with abundant dry grass. The department emphasized the importance of adhering to instructions from the Palestinian Civil Defense to ensure public safety during the heatwave.
