The President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, stressed deepening relations and strengthening cooperation ties between Iraq and Turkey. The media office of the Kurdish leader stated: "Barzani met today in the Salah al-Din resort, the new Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, and during the meeting, the political situation in Iraq and the region was discussed." Barzani expressed his wishes for success and good luck to the new Ambassador, stressing the deepening of relations and strengthening cooperation ties between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey. For his part, the new Turkish Ambassador to Iraq expressed to Barzani his "happiness to assume his duties as his country's ambassador to Iraq, stressing Turkey's desire to expand its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, especially in the economic and trade fields and to enhance coordination between the two sides."
