RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces overnight and Sunday detained at least 25 Palestinians from the West Bank, including a woman from Gaza, a child, and a wounded citizen and former prisoners. The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees explained in a joint statement that the detention operations were mainly in the Hebron Governorate, while the rest of the arrests took place in the governorates of Qalqilya, Bethlehem, Jenin, Tulkarm, Ramallah, and Jerusalem. Additionally, the occupation forces continue to carry out widespread harassment and attacks, severe beatings and threats against detainees and their families as well as ransacking and damaging civilian homes. The statement indicated that the occupation forces detained a cancer-stricken woman from Gaza while she was heading to the city of Jerusalem to receive and complete her treatment. It added that the total number of arrests after October 7 reached 7,630, and includes those who were arrested from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage. Arrest campaigns in the West Bank are escalating in an unprecedented manner after October 7th, targeting all groups of children, women, the elderly, and the sick.
