Qalqilya: Israeli occupation forces detained at least 15 individuals, including a child and a student, in the occupied West Bank over the past 24 hours. The arrests were part of a series of military operations conducted in several Palestinian cities, namely Qalqilya, Ramallah, Hebron, Nablus, Bethlehem, and Tubas. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) released a joint statement detailing that these detention operations involved widespread raids. The actions reportedly included abuse, assaults, and threats against detainees and their families, alongside acts of vandalism and destruction of citizens' homes and infrastructure. The statement further explained that Israeli forces have been conducting field investigations in various towns, often repurposing citizens' homes as military barracks. Such investigative actions have recently intensified, affecting hundreds of young men across all governora tes. PPS and the Commission also highlighted that since October 7th, the total number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank has surged to over 11,800. This tally includes individuals detained from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under duress, and those taken hostage.
