A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that an officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel in Diyala traffic survived an assassination attempt after his vehicle in which he was traveling was exposed to gunfire by unidentified gunmen while he was passing through Al-Jawba intersection northeast of Baqubah, indicating that the officer was not injured.
