Israeli Forces Continue Aggression on Jenin for 16th Consecutive Day, Resulting in 25 Palestinian Deaths

Jenin: Israeli occupation forces continue the aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the sixteenth consecutive day, killing 25 Palestinians, leaving dozens of injuries, detentions, house bombings, siege, forced displacement, and widespread destruction of infrastructure.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Jenin Civil Defense rescue teams were able on Tuesday evening to evacuate an injured young man from the demolished building in Al-Damj neighborhood in Jenin camp, despite the difficulty they endured due to the large amount of destruction in the camp’s streets, roads, and entrances.

The occupation forces detained a young man from his home in Sabah Al-Khair housing in the city of Jenin, while they detained another young man in the vicinity of Al-Amal Hospital in the Al-Mahta neighborhood, assaulted him, and blindfolded him.

The forces continue to besiege Jenin Governmental Hospital, after bulldozing its entrance and the main street leading to it. The director of Jenin Governmental Hospital, Wissam Bakr, stated that the hospital is almost empty, except for some emergency cases that are able to reach it, due to the Israeli procedures and harassment of patients entering or exiting it. The hospital used to serve 40,000 people in the Jenin Governorate.

Bakr confirmed that the hospital was able, after about a week from the beginning of the aggression on Jenin, to resume receiving cancer patients and dispensing the necessary treatments for those who were able to reach them, while the outpatient clinic department remains closed after 16 days of aggression.

For his part, the governor of Jenin expressed concern that the geometric and demographic shape of the camp will change completely, due to the bombing and destruction of homes and infrastructure caused by the occupation.

The occupation continues to carry out operations of bombing and destroying homes in Jenin camp, while it sends continuous military reinforcements from the Jalameh military checkpoint to its surroundings.
