NABLUS: Israeli colonists today torched an outdoor space of derelict vehicles in Yatma village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to a local source. Head of Yatma Village Council, Ahmad Snubar, said that colonists mounted an attack against the northern part of the village and set an outdoor space used for parking abandoned vehicles as well as an olive orchard ablaze. The assailants attempted to torch one of the nearby houses, but their attempt was fended off by the villagers. Colonist violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Colonist violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. There are over 700,000 Israeli colonists living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA
