RAMALLAH: Israeli colonists Wednesday evening set up tents on Palestinian citizens' land in the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, according to a local official. The head of Umm Safa village council, Marwan Sabah, told WAFA that colonists set up tents in the said village as part of their ongoing land seizure and bulldozing activities in the Jabal Al-Ras area. He emphasized that the villagers possess legal documents proving their ownership of the land. A few days ago, colonists, under the protection of the occupation army, began to bulldoze about 500 dunums of land in the villages of Umm Safa and Arura, blocking the road to the village of Deir Sudan and restricting residents' movement. These bulldozing operations have completely isolated Umm Safa from its surroundings, leaving its 720 residents trapped in an open-air prison, surrounded by illegal colonies and bypass roads from all directions.
