Nablus: Israeli colonists launched attacks on Palestinian-licensed vehicles at the Za'tara junction, south of Nablus, on Monday evening, causing damage to several vehicles. This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence by colonists against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the colonists hurled stones at passing vehicles at the junction, a critical point that separates the northern and southern regions of the West Bank. This act of aggression followed an earlier attack where colonists targeted Palestinian-registered vehicles near the Yitzhar colony, also south of Nablus, resulting in smashed windshields.
Violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property is a common occurrence in the West Bank. Such acts, including property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, and the uprooting of crops and olive trees, seldom lead to prosecution by Israeli authorities. This ongoing aggression is compounded by the presence of approximately 1 million Israeli colonists living in settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, a situation considered illegal under international law.
