Jenin: A Palestinian minor succumbed to injuries on Monday evening after being shot by Israeli forces in the Jenin refugee camp, located in the northern occupied West Bank, as reported by a local medical source.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Wissam Bakr, the director of Jenin Government Hospital, confirmed that 14-year-old Mohammad Sari Alawneh died due to wounds inflicted by Israeli occupation forces in the camp. Alawneh marks the second minor casualty from such incidents within the refugee camp.
In related developments, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that its medical teams administered first-aid to a 17-year-old who had been shot in the shoulder by Israeli soldiers. The injured teen was promptly transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Earlier in the evening, Israeli troops reportedly killed another 14-year-old, Islam Abdul-Aziz Nouh Majarmeh, within the same refugee camp. According to a WAFA correspondent, the armed soldiers targeted a group of civilians who were attempting to inspect and retrieve belongings from their homes in the camp, resulting in the death of Majarmeh and serious injuries to two other young men. The injured individuals were taken to an operating room after sustaining critical gunshot wounds to the abdomen.
