Gaza City: Five Palestinians were killed on Sunday evening following an Israeli airstrike targeting Al-Thawra Street in the western part of Gaza City. This incident marks another tragic moment in the ongoing conflict between Israeli forces and Gaza. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the bombing led to multiple injuries alongside the five confirmed fatalities. Local health authorities have reported a dramatic rise in the Palestinian death toll, with the number of fatalities reaching 44,429 since the conflict escalated on October 7, 2023. In addition to the deceased, an estimated 105,250 individuals have suffered injuries, with women and children comprising the majority of the casualties. Emergency services have faced significant challenges in reaching affected individuals, as many remain trapped under debris or are scattered across the streets. The continued obstruction of ambulance and civil defense crews by Israeli forces has exacerbated the situation, hindering critical rescue ope rations. Despite international pressure, including calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and instructions from the International Court of Justice to prevent further atrocities and address the humanitarian crisis, the Israeli military campaign shows no signs of abating.
