The Greater Irbid Municipality (GIM) on Tuesday signed a twinning agreement with Hebron Municipality, aimed to exchange expertise in various fields, enhance joint cooperation and benefit from the two cities' success stories at diverse levels. The agreement, which was signed by GIM Mayor Dr. Nabil Kufahi, and Mayor of Hebron, Tayseer Abu Sneineh, aims to develop joint relations and cooperation. Speaking during the signing ceremony, Kufahi said GIM has a "clear" vision to make Irbid a "green and a smart" city that attracts investment by thinking about developmental work, based on "broad and true" partnerships with all institutions and parties. Kufahi expressed happiness for concluding this agreement with the "historical" Hebron Municipality, which would have an "important" role in serving both parties, stressing the GIM's readiness to consolidate its relations with all municipalities in occupied Palestine. For his part, Abu Sneineh said the agreement reflects joint desire to strengthen bilateral relations, exchange expertise, and cooperate in the economic, social, environmental, and academic fields to serve citizens. Abu Sneineh added that this steps also seeks to ensure sustainability of future joint work, aimed at developing services in a "distinguished" way to promote "sustainable" development and improve the quality of citizens' life. Jordan, he noted, "fully" supports Palestinian people's steadfastness under the King's leadership ,referring to Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem . He indicated that His Majesty is making every effort to preserve the holy city's Arab and Muslim identity, appreciating Jordan's "great" role to support Palestine and Gaza. Source: Jordan News Agency
