Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, stressed that "the intensive Israeli strikes on "Hezbollah" in Lebanon are a humanitarian crisis that risks igniting conflict in the region." "There is a danger that the events taking place in Lebanon will spread to the entire region," Pezeshkian said in a television interview, stressing that Hezbollah is facing a very well-armed state with access to weapons systems that far exceed anything else. He warned, "We must not allow Lebanon to become another Gaza at the hands of Israel," adding, "Hezbollah cannot do this alone, and Hezbollah cannot stand alone against a state that is defended, supported and fed by Western countries, European countries and the United States of America." In response to another question about whether Iran's delayed response to Israel's actions, Pezeshkian said, "The assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh is condemned according to all international laws and will certainly not pass without Iran's response." He pointed out t hat "while America and Western countries supported Israel, Iran responded to the attack on its consulate in Damascus, and proved that it can respond to the crimes of this entity, but we do not want to be an element of destabilization and security in the region." Israel has begun carrying out airstrikes Against Lebanon for the second day in a row, and said that it was targeting sites that it claims are used by the Lebanese "Hezbollah" to store its weapons. Israel named the air operations it is carrying out on Lebanon "Arrows of the North", which resulted in the deaths of about 558 people, including 50 children and 94 women, and 1835 wounded. This caused a displacement movement from southern Lebanon to Beirut and the northern regions due to the violent Israeli bombing. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
