Geneva: The United Nations International Organization for Migration (IMO) announced Tuesday that 49 irregular migrants were killed while 140 others are still missing in a boat sinking off the coast of Yemen. The IMO said in a statement that the boat coming from Somalia was carrying 260 Somali and Ethiopian passengers. It added that among those killed were 31 women and six children, while 71 others survived drowning. Yemen is a destination for migrants from the countries of the Horn of Africa, especially Ethiopia and Somalia. Source: Qatar News Agency
