RAMALLAH: Hundreds of Palestinians today marched through the streets in several governorates in the West Bank to condemn the assassination of Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh. In Ramallah, hundreds of protesters roamed the streets of the city, expressing their deepest condolences and sympathy to the Haniyeh family and the Palestinian people and chanting slogans calling for national unity. A similar march took place in the city of Nablus. The march was organized by the Factional Coordination Committee in Nablus. The participants denounced the assassination of Haniyeh as shameful, calling for an end to division and achieving national unity. Dozens of citizens also participated in a set-in and a march in the city of Tubas to denounce Haniyeh's assassination. Representatives of the national and Islamic forces in Tubas participated in the sit-in and the march. A general strike was observed across Palestine today in condemnation of Haniyeh's assassination.
