European Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell said that the humanitarian situation is worsening in the West Bank and Gaza Strip due to attacks against civilians, destruction of infrastructure, and settler violence. He noted that the Jabalia refugee camp "stands out more than anywhere else." In remarks on the sidelines of the Foreign Affairs Council on Monday, Borrell added that EU member states have to discuss the refugee issue again today, pointing out that there are proposals on the table, such as imposing sanctions on violent Israeli settlers, as well as on two Israeli government ministers.
