Security forces raided a den for smuggling petroleum derivatives, found several seizures in the capital, Baghdad, arrested a suspect, and seized his vehicle in Salah al-Din Governorate. A statement by the Ministry of Interior stated: Based on the available intelligence information, a force from the Third Brigade of the Energy Police raided a den used for illegal trading in petroleum derivatives on the Karkh side of the capital, Baghdad, and the operation resulted in the seizure of an iron tank containing an oil product of unknown quantity and quality. He added that the detachments of the Second Brigade were able to arrest an accused and seize his vehicle prepared for smuggling petroleum products in Salah al-Din Governorate, because he did not carry official papers for the loaded product, and the necessary measures were taken against them, while a force remained at the site of the operation to seize the den until the seizures were lifted, in accordance with Law No. 41. for the year 2008 regarding combating t he smuggling of oil and its derivatives.
