Hasan al-Saadi officially took over as Minister of Education and Scientific Research on Tuesday, succeeding former Minister of Higher Education Hussein Hazeb. The handover ceremony in Sana'a marked the transition, with al-Saadi honoring Hazeb for his significant contributions to higher education despite the challenges posed by ongoing conflict and siege. During the ceremony, al-Saadi awarded Hazeb the Loyalty Shield, recognizing his efforts in advancing higher education, academic accreditation, and establishing new universities. Al-Saadi emphasized the importance of teamwork and the continuation of development efforts within the ministry, stressing that the integration of ministries is a transformative process aimed at improving the education sector. Hazeb expressed confidence in al-Saadi's leadership and highlighted the achievements made during his tenure, including the establishment of several universities and the enhancement of academic standards.
