Around 100,000 Perform Isha and Tarawih Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem: Around 100,000 Muslim worshippers on Friday evening performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem, according to the Islamic Waqf Department.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, approximately 100,000 worshippers gathered at the mosque compound to perform Isha and Tarawih prayers. This marked the nightly rituals during the Ramadan fasting month despite Israeli restrictions.

Israel implemented tighter restrictions on Palestinian worshippers from the West Bank seeking entry into the occupied city to pray at the holy site. These restrictions included requiring prior security approval for entry.

Israeli occupation forces denied entry to thousands and barred others who gathered at the Kalandia military checkpoint and Checkpoint 300, located north and south of Jerusalem, from entering the area.

Large numbers of troops were deployed at checkpoints leading into the city and at the gates of the mosque compound. According to the Waqf Department, the occupation authorities recently issued orders to 300 Palestinians from Jerusalem, denying them entry to the site.
