PARIS: A French parliamentary delegation headed by MP Eric Cockerel, in front of the Rafah crossing, today called for an immediate, permanent and comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In a statement, the delegation stressed that a permanent ceasefire is the basic and significant condition for the start of negotiations, which must include the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza Strip, ending the siege imposed on the Palestinian territories, stopping the construction of colonies in the West Bank, and seizing property in East Jerusalem. The delegation further reiterated that such negotiations need to be based on international law and the recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people. They expressed their full support for UNRWA in its indispensable humanitarian mission. Source: Palestine news and Information Agency – WAFA
