The Hebrew newspaper Maariv said that the Israeli army is likely to launch another "preemptive attack" against Hezbollah this week. "Maariv" quoted foreign reports as saying: "Israel's additional preventive responses are expected to continue this week as well," while sources who requested anonymity reported that Hezbollah began an evacuation of civilians in the southern suburbs of Beirut 48 hours ago, with the aim of protecting them from a possible response from Israel. The newspaper said that security officials in Israel are closely monitoring developments in Lebanon, and estimate that Hezbollah may try to avenge the assassinations carried out in recent weeks, at a time when the Israeli army announced that it is prepared for any scenario on the northern border, and that its defense systems are on high alert.
