Channel 13 reported that a Border Guard force was near the site and opened fire on the perpetrator, then later reported that "the perpetrator of the operation is from Kafr Aqab and holds an Israeli identity and was killed on the spot." The Israeli police commander in the central region reported that the perpetrator ran over several Israelis at a bus station and carried out another run-over operation hundreds of meters away from the first. For it s part, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that "the double operation in Ramla came in response to the assassination attempt on the commander of the Qassam Brigades, Mohammed Deif, the Mawasi massacre in Khan Yunis, and Hamas's call to escalate the resistance.
